An Advocate

First Section

My journey is deeply rooted in resilience, struggle, and triumph that characterizes the black community in Denver. My inspiration comes from a lineage of smart Black women and the broader community of activists, educators, and advocates  who have paved the way for progress and change.

Second Section

Looking back on my journey, I understand that my  path to coming to Soul 2 Soul Sisters was never about one career or one solution. It is  about using every experience, every setback, and every victory to fight for a world where Black joy could thrive. It was about healing not just myself, but my practice of  Sankofa,  using my  soul's journey to light the way for others.

Third Section

At Soul 2 Soul Sisters, I am continuously inspired by the empowering of  Black joy, resonating deeply with the work my soul is called to do. As the Finance Manager, my role intersects the critical areas of financial stewardship, strategic planning, and Black joy thriving without the constraints of financial barriers.

Meeting the Call:

The mission of S2SS  meets me precisely where I feel most called to contribute: at the intersection of advocacy and practicality. It allows me to channel my professional skills towards a cause that is not only necessary but transformative. By ensuring the organization's financial health and sustainability, I play a part in enabling the impactful programs that directly benefit Black joy, aligning with my deeper values and the work my soul yearns to accomplish.

Breathing Life into My Role:

Strategic Financial Management, I breathe life into my role by going beyond traditional finance management; I actively seek out strategic opportunities for growth and sustainability. This involves creating budgets that reflect the organization's priorities, optimizing resources for maximum impact, and ensuring every dollar spent or donated furthers our mission.

Transparency and Trust, Building trust through transparency with our donors, partners, and the communities we serve is paramount. I ensure our financial operations are transparent, our reporting is clear, and stakeholders understand how their contributions make a difference. This transparency not only strengthens our relationships but also amplifies our credibility and effectiveness.

Fourth Section

If Black Beloveds were free, you could find me orchestrating powerful community initiatives designed to amplify Black voices of the youth, nurturing spaces where Black Futurism is celebrated for its brilliance and resilience, and leading financial literacy programs to empower our communities towards sustainable generational wealth .
