Self-Love Saturday for Black Women in May!

May 28, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Self-Love Saturdays for Black Women are vibrant, intergenerational, soulful experiences hosted by Soul 2 Soul Sisters. Our gatherings have varying themes each month that aim to assist Black Women in healing from post-traumatic slave syndrome and the effects of anti-Black racism/white supremacy culture, heteropatriarchy, capitalism, lynchings, policing, and state-sponsored violence.

Also — per the sign-up page, this gathering is for self-identified Black Women, girls, and gender expansive people. Please respect the sanctity of this space.

✨ Self-Love Saturday for Black Women in May DETAILS ✨

TITLE: Staying Soft in a Hard World

DATE: Saturday, May 28, 2022

TIME: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (MST)

LOCATION: Virtual (Zoom link provided upon RSVP)

COST: Sliding Scale ($0 – $20 USD). If you would like to receive a no-cost ticket, please email our Healing, Health & Joy Coordinator, Briana Simmons (she/her) at briana@soul2soulsisters.org. Please note that the no-cost tickets are limited and reserved for those who are financially strained.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Using a combination of breathwork, partner and group conversation exercises, we will explore the nine Enneagram types as armor that we wield to protect ourselves from pain and suffering. The invitation of the Enneagram is to recognize that we are the person behind the armor, not the armor itself, and in doing so create more space to access freedom and choice. In this workshop, we will explore how each of us stay armored in daily life and who we are outside of our armor, as well as practices that can help us access those soft selves more frequently. Please come prepared to participate in the discussion.

FACILITATOR BIO: Chichi Agorom is a writer, a Certified Enneagram Teacher & Practitioner through the Narrative Tradition, adjunct faculty at The Narrative Enneagram and a former psychotherapist whose life’s work is to support people on their journeys towards wholeness and healing. Her greatest joy is learning how to belong to herself, and creating spaces—both physically and with her words––that help others feel less alone and more known. She earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Post-Master’s Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. She also holds a Coaching Certificate from The Enneagram in Business. She lives in Los Angeles, cultivating a life of rest and peace by the water.
