Black Maternal Health Week is from April 11th -April 17th.

Soul 2 Soul Sisters is thrilled to join the Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA) in celebrating Black Maternal Health Week (#BMHW25)! Held annually on April 11-17th, BMHW is a week-long campaign founded and led by BMMA to build awareness, activism, and community-building to amplify the voices, perspectives and lived experiences of Black Mamas and birthing people.

Black Birthing is Beautiful!

At a time when maternal health crises are raging in our communities, disproportionately impacting Black birthing people, Soul 2 Soul Sisters is committed to advocating for and equipping our community with the tools and resources needed to ensure Black birthing people, babies, and families thrive.

Join us as we dare to imagine and build worlds where ALL Black birthing people can access safety, quality healthcare systems, and resources to thrive. Together, we will embody life-loving power as we get free. Now.

Whether you are a Black birthing person, a supporter of Black birthing people, or a new, seasoned, or somewhere-in-between advocate for reproductive and birth justice movements, Soul 2 Soul Sisters has something to meet you where you are.

#BMHW2025 Offerings from Soul 2 Soul Sisters

Join us for a special edition Self Love Journeys this #BMHW26. We will gather for a special, love-filled ceremony to mark the Closing of the Bones. This is a chance to be in a comfortable space to process the impact of childbirth on your body, mind, and spirit.

Once a month, we gather Black Beloveds in celebration and dedication to rest, play, dream, laugh, and eat together. This month, our Sacred Seeds Birthworker Collective will host the Closing of the Bones Ceremony for Black Beloveds in our community.

The Closing of the Bones Ceremony

The Closing of the Bones is a traditional ceremony that involves massage and body wrapping to help birthing bodies recover after their labor journey, however that may have looked. The ceremony can also be performed for birthing people of angel babies who have experienced child loss to process grief, other life transitions, or trauma concerning the womb space.

The ceremony helps realign bones, shift pelvic organs, and shrink the uterus. It stimulates blood flow, helping activate the immune system, which can help clean and renew the body and balance hormones.

This is a sacred and intergenerational space for birthing individuals and those with wombs to feel nurtured and release emotions associated with giving birth, motherhood, or womb changes/trauma.

If you feel called, we invite you to allow us to usher you back “home” to yourself.
