BLACK HEALTH, HEALING & JOY COORDINATOR
She/Her/Hers
A Cultural Weaver weaving together healing modalities, nature, wellness, ritual, movement, spirituality, Black history, and self exploration.
First Section Use this space to talk about where you come from and the people who inspire you to do this work.
I was born in Kansas City, Kansas. I have lived in the Denver area for 50 years. My ancestors inspired me to do this work in community.
I have been an active part of the Denver Cultural community since 1983. I have initiated and been involved in the creative healing arts, weaving together healing modalities, nature, wellness, ritual, movement, spirituality, Black history, and self exploration. Currently, I am the founder and artistic director for IWADDE (Intergenerational Womens’ African Drum and Dance Ensemble), an Acudetox program manager and practitioner with the Communities With Intentions program, co-founder of Ibeji Healing Arts, and the Presiding Priestess for a Denver Ifa community. I recently started working with Soul 2 Soul Sisters as the Black Healing, Health and Joy Coordinator. Previously, I have worked as a senior technical writer for over 35 years and am graduate of Stanford University. I am an honored member of the Denver Kwanzaa Circle of Wisdom.
Second Section Talk your s*&@! Tell us your story. How did you get to Soul 2 Soul? What was your career/healing/soul journey to get here?
In the past I have attended and facilitated Soul 2 Soul events, workshops, and rituals. When the opportunity to work at Soul 2 Soul Sisters opened up, I was excited to apply. In 2023, I told myself and spirit that I wanted a happy, happy, joy, joy job so that I could work in community full time. Well, when the Black Healing, Health, and Joy coordinator position became available, this was in alignment with what I had requested from the universe. What a beautiful blessing and I accepted.
Third Section We are called to do the work our Souls must have. How does Soul 2 Soul Sisters meet you where you are called? What is your role at Soul 2 Soul Sisters? How do you breathe life into your role?
I have been doing the work my soul required throughout my life. Soul 2 Soul Sisters allows me to continue this healing work in community. I will continue to breathe life into my healing journey as a Cultural Weaver that explores and shares the beauty in life with community.
Fourth Section If Black beloveds were free, you could find me...
Traveling to visit all of the worlds’ wonders without concerns about safety nor being treated unfairly because of the color of skin and who I love. “I am my ancestors’ wildest dreams.”
