Self-Love Saturday: Re-Imagining Sex, Pleasure, & Intimacy

Join us in-person for October’s Self-Love Saturday on October 28th from 10 am – 12 pm.

This workshop is intended to encourage participants to reflect upon their current understandings around sex, pleasure and intimacy–and explore where those messages and narratives came from. After intentional discussion and activity-based reflection, participants will have an opportunity to offer insights and words of advice to their younger (perhaps sexual) selves.

Attendees will be entered into a raffle to win a Sensual Self Box, full of quirk and fun! Join Sam Casanova for an intimacy-based workshop rooted in storytelling and intentional dialogue. As Black folks, we deserve sexual & intimate experiences that make us feel good and make us feel safe.

About your Host

Sam Casanova (she/they) identifies as a Black Queer Femme Educator and Social Researcher who designs curriculum and content that centers the stories and narratives of folks on the margins. With over 6 years of educational experience, Casanova currently works as a full-time sexual health educator in the greater Denver-metro area and supports community members with creating lessons around our many intersecting identities, including race, gender and sexuality.

Casanova has Bachelor’s Degrees in both English and Theater from the University of Florida; as well as a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from RELAY-Denver. Casanova published “Cafe con Leche” (2017) and “I asked out Molly” (2014) as a way to celebrate and uplift the experiences of QTPOC (queer and trans people of color). As an Afro-Caribena born and raised in Miami, FL, Casanova actively centers pleasure, culture and storytelling in their social activism and encourages others to do the same.
